Perineal rehabilitation is also for men and here they will find a team ready to provide care.

Men generally seek out perineal rehabilitation following a prostatectomy, surgery for prostate cancer. A large part of these men suffer from urinary incontinence (loss of urine) and erectile dysfunction (problems with erections). This is a result of a partial lesion of the pudendal nerve, which innervates the muscles of the PERINEUM, and can be treated with perineal rehabilitation.

A prostatectomy is not the only cause of these conditions. They can occur due to aging and other conditions such as diabetes. Men can also use perineal rehabilitation for  the treatment of urinary retention (difficulty urinating), fecal incontinence (loss of control over gases or feces), intestinal constipation (difficulty evacuating), pelvic myalgia (pain in the pelvic region) and sexual dysfunctions (pain during intercourse, decreased pleasure, difficulty in having an erection, premature ejaculation, etc.).

We believe that physiotherapy should be done shortly after the first symptoms appear; improving quality of life, well-being, and sexuality.
