VAGINAL DRYNESS

In fact, vaginal dryness is the reduction or even absence of lubrication of the vaginal mucosa.

Namely, the vaginal mucosa, like all mucous membranes in the body, must have natural lubrication< /a> for protection purposes.

This lubrication certainly varies from woman to woman, as well as with the different phases of the menstrual cycle and, mainly, varies according to the phases of a woman’s life.

In principle, hormonal changes are the main causes of vaginal dryness, occurring in the post- childbirth, as well as in menopause, as well as in some thyroid dysfunctions.

Vaginal dryness results in constant discomfort in the intimate area, which can lead to burning and skin irritation.

Women with vaginal security will probably also have dyspareunia, that is, pain during penetration. In this sense, vaginal lubrication is extremely impotence for a healthy and pain-free sexuality.

TREATMENT

In the same way that we have to hydrate our body skin we can hydrate our intimate area and we already have great products on the market for this purpose.

Above all, it is important that these women always have a lubricant to use during sexual intercourse. Penetration without lubrication is synonymous with pain.

Since vaginal dryness is related to a decrease in collagen, techniques such as laser, oxygen therapy and radiofrequency can also be used in the vaginal canal with excellent results.

Furthermore, the metabolic changes caused by perineal rehabilitation will have the effect of increasing metabolism in the pelvis, increasing blood supply and thus also increasing collagen production. It is highly recommended for treating vaginal dryness.

Undeniably, the great advantage of our treatments is the fact that we always aim for a global rehabilitation of the PERINEUM muscles. Therefore, they will be able to perform ALL their functions: urinary, defecatory, supporting the pelvic organs and, of course, sexual.

Therefore, all treatments follow the revolutionary and innovative concept Active Perineal Rehabilitation and Series developed by physiotherapist Dr. Laira Ramos.

WOMAN

Because of their anatomy, perineal dysfunctions affect women more than men. Man, due to the lifestyle we are living, it is very common for increasingly younger women to already have some symptoms of these pathologies.

Certainly, urinary incontinence (loss of pee) is the most common complaint that women present, however due to weakness of the muscles of the PERINEUM she may also experience  fecal incontinence (loss of gas or feces) , pelvic organ prolapses (“droopy bladder”), and sexual dysfunctions (decreased pleasure, difficulty having orgasm, among others).

However, muscular hyperactivity, that is, the difficulty in relaxing these muscles, can undoubtedly be the cause of urinary retention (difficulty peeing), intestinal constipation (difficulty having a bowel movement), pelvic pain (pain in the pelvic region) and pain during sexual intercourse.

There are certainly several factors that can be the cause of these pathologies, such as muscle weakness as a result of not having the habit of working these muscles, as well as pregnancy as this phase places a great strain on the pelvis.

Undeniably, menopause is a challenging phase and the hormonal changes during this period have a huge negative impact on the function of the pelvic floor, causing many women to suffer from these pathologies.
